For the 2026 benefit year, the maximum is $8,157/year per child under 6 and $6,883/year per child aged 6–17. Benefits are income-tested and begin to be clawed back when adjusted family net income exceeds $38,237.
Examples
- • A family with one child under 6 and family income of $35,000 receives the full $8,157/year ($679.75/month) tax-free.
